I’m thinking 1900 –

Standard

A date chosen as it’s not long after Wm Morris died (in 1896) still Victorian (just) and brings us into the twentieth century and the flow of improvements to and importations of lots of mechanisation of household goods.

Machinery and the Victorians – they really took to the use of mechanical gubbins.

And it just so happens that I’ve had tucked away in a drawer and been unable to use, one hand mincer!  Sadly it’s more of a representation of a more ‘modern’ version but not that much different in general design from the earliest models and adds a touch of machinery to this late Victorian kitchen.

Still working on bits around the kitchen before the ceiling and lights go in.  For the time being here is a tale in pictures of story so far this week.
