and creep up and across

This is as far as I’ve got with the next door space and I now need to sit down 🙂

Was going to dress the wall with all the finishes before sticking in place, but decided that working in situ was a wiser move so as to limit the possible warping disaster.

The distressing brown horizontals are supposed to be the between ceiling to floor spaces. I’ll do something with them as it goes along, promise.

I had to re cut the angle for the top part of the chimney in order to be able to include a mostly straight chimney breast in that upper room.  It’s set now with only a little angled bit within the room itself.

This sad room still has bits of wallpaper and plaster and there’s a shoring prop that has to go in there too, supporting the remnant of the facade that comes out at right angles from the gable in that gap on the left.

I think I’m going with more of a finished off look on the upper levels, confining most of the sad damage to this particular ex-room area.  Waiting on glues and wood stain to dry before considering nibbling on.
