Hot off the press
– well, from under the steam iron
I think we have three of these blankets but this one appears at first glance to be “Guaranteed” to be a Blanket. Of the others, one is very small and has no stripes and the other – well someone got hungry perhaps.
Name that blanket
You may be able to see that the top blanket does have a washed-out brand name in red on its label but this was the best I could get from it with a quick fiddle around.
More blankets being made
I’m only decorating one edge and one side of this homemade mini variety. They’ll either be folded so that only the one edge shows or they’ll be placed face down as part of a made bed with their worked face turned back and their bottom edge tucked and hidden in the bed making.
This flannel/winceyette is very loose weave fabric and gives a bit of a frilly edge when treated with my shaky blanket stitching. Then I noticed that our proper, guaranteed blanket(s) have bulky edges, with the fabric rolled under and on two of them the stitching is pulled to give a tighter, slightly pie-edged look (see edge on first photo). So I had a go on the two I’d not yet done.
Can’t really pull the thread in the flannel as it leaves a whacking great hole but, these may well do for the children’s beds, particularly if in semi-made beds with this side turned over onto the rest of the bedding.
And, no, I’ve not yet, in my clearing and sorting, found the mislaid one(s). Was it one or was it two? If they turn up I’ll give them a home, but they may have gone to a better mini blanket world, having fallen into a departing bucket of trash. Hey ho.
