There was one 1:12 male doll kit in the drawer which I’ve reserved for the bosses job. He’s a sturdy fellow and he shouldn’t do too much scrabbling around on damaged roofing.
It’s a shoulders only torso which is ideal. I’ve put him together with pipe cleaners and started to pad him out. Also swapped out his legs for yet another smaller pair that was lying around spare.
His head is held on with a length of elastic which I do like as it can be positioned but the down side is the gap at the neck can show.
The seat, chest and back all need building out. The back and chest need to meet the hard porcelain shoulders.
Chest and now upper arms more or less running together shape-wise
Built up the chest padding to overlap at the front for smoother finish. Trying out a possible posture
Knee breeches, hose and now a tunic with false under shift at neck and cuffs. Knees of his breeches fastened with laces.
Man in a bad suit now wearing a leather work apron
Bearded, hatted and selling fish fingers (for those who know UK TV adverts)
Side view of team boss in leather hat and over jerkin. Still in need of footwear and working tools like the other guy.
The kit is from World of My Own Miniatures and I must have had him in the drawer since 2014 or so as that’s the date on the folder his photo’s in. Explanation needed there – when I order something I tend to clip a photo of it and save or paste it somewhere with the date of the order as I’m likely to forget what’s been ordered and when. (I also forget to clean the file out sometimes when the goods have arrived it seems.) Anyway, he’s now gainfully employed.
